2003 Evo, prepped for Street Mod, plus extras -- $29,000
Due to some personal circumstances, I am considering selling my 2003 Evo.
This car has already won a WDCR SCCA local autocross championship (2004, Street Modified). At the last three WDCR events where the car ran on Hoosiers (2004, June 13, Aug 8, and Sept 5), this car was the fastest car in a DOT-tire class -- beaten in raw time only by go-karts, Lotus 7 clones, and open wheel race cars. At the June 13 event, the car took the #1 PAXed time of the day.
Above the local level, this car took three third place trophies in 2004, at the Atlanta ProSolo, the DC ProSolo, and the NE Divisional.
The car weighed 3040 pounds at the NE Divisional. On Sunoco GT100 unleaded fuel, the car was dynoed at 323 HP at the wheels. 0-60 MPH comes in around 4 seconds.
I am offering the car as is for a price which reflects the amount invested in the car. I have somewhere around $12K invested in this car above the $30K purchase price, plus a lot of labor, sweat, and experience. The front LSD, CCW wheels, and 285/30R18 Hoosiers -- all unused -- add up to over $4K.
I am planning to move to the West Coast some time within the next few months. Given the expense to move the car out there, plus three extra sets of wheels and tires, plus all of the stock parts (bubble wrap an exhaust, anyone?), it seems prudent to strongly consider selling the car locally. (Also, it would seem to be a crying shame to detune this car for the 91 octane fuel available out there...) And with the beginning of the WDCR SCCA season only two weeks away, by offering it now, if you act quickly, you could run the whole season in this car.
This car is set up for Street Modified autocross competition, and comes with the following extras:
Installed
- Vishnu XEDE piggyback ECU -- custom tuned by Shiv Pathak (the founder of Vishnu) for both 93 octane pump gas and for 100 octane unleaded
- Vishnu XEDEFlash ECU modifications -- improves idle with cammed motor, raises boost and RPM limits, eliminates top speed governor
- HKS Cams with Vishnu cam gears
- Buschur Racing 3" turboback exhaust with high-flow cat
- JIC FLT-A2 coilovers provided with custom tuning by SelGP
- Autocross alignment with lots of negative camber -- front strut tops have easily adjusted camber plates
- Toyo RA-1 235/45R17 tires on Enkei RPF1 17x8 wheels
- Walbro fuel pump upgrade
- Autometer electronic boost gauge
- Baer Eradispeed+ two-piece brake rotors
- Porterfield R4S brake pads
- Kartboy exhaust hangers
- K&N panel air filter
Provided, but not installed
- Quaife front LSD with needed O-rings for installation (this is a limited availability item -- you cannot currently order one of these, but I've got one)
- Stainless steel clutch line
- Kartboy shifter bushings
- Test pipe (cat delete)
- CCW 18x10 wheels, never used (includes two 13mm spacers needed
for front caliper clearance)
- Extended wheel studs
- 285/30R18 Hoosier A3S04 tires, never used
- 235/45R17 Dunlop Winter Sport M2 snow tires on the stock 17x8 wheels.
- 235/45R17 Original Yokohama A046 tires that came on the car. Unmounted. Still have tread left on them, but probably close to the legal limit. Probably at least a half dozen autoX events left in these tires, although they would not be competitive except in a Street Tire class.
- Partially corded 245/40R17 Hoosiers on 17x9 5Zigen FN01R-C wheels.
- Most of the original parts that were upgraded (exhaust, cams and cam gears, suspension, brake rotors).
